Classical music is an institution for many as most musicians take classical music lessons before they start experimenting with their skills. Aria
Aria is the moment in opera where the lead character shows off their vocal chops. This section is meant for the singer to milk the applause of the audience while it also takes the story to a dramatic phase. Arias is the x-factor in opera that makes them popular. You can later find the singers performing arias from various operas in concerts and events.
Cadenza
Cadenza is a moment when any performer can show off their solo skills during a concert. When the orchestra stops playing, the soloist goes forward to play an instrument or perform lyrically, showing off their skills. Most of the cadenzas are prewritten, but the artists are allowed to compose their own and improvise on the spot.
Concerto
In a concerto, a soloist is placed against the whole orchestra. The concerto highlights the soloist and orchestra at the same time. They jam on the stage with their symphonies and showcase the most glamorous soloist from their team for the opening night concerts. It gives a chance to the orchestra and the soloist to see what they can do independently.
Chamber music
Chamber music consists of a group of instrumentalists without a conductor, and the players are expected to work something out between themselves. Chamber music festivals are held mostly in summer, and the venues are more relaxed. The musicians can have a good time jamming while the audience receives some of their newly created work.
Movement
The musicians like to have the audience wait for them to play the music and sit through the entire movement of a fast-slow-fast type of pattern. The movements are the different sections of music that are put together like chapters. After every chapter, the players take a break to re-tune their instruments and clear their throats. They mostly prefer the audience to stay silent during this break instead of applauding for the first chapter to end.
Sonata
Sonata is one of the most complex written music to learn for instrumentalists. Each sonata has a composition for a solo instrument. When it is not piano, it is accompanied by piano. The players receive the stage entirely for themselves to showcase their talent because the sonata can take forever to memorize due to so many notes.
